About Me

As a young child, I was awestruck by the world of creativity and wondered if I too could find my own unique passion. With my parents' guidance, I was introduced to the captivating world of music and began to explore the magical melodies that the violin and piano could create. As I grew older, my creative instincts drew me towards visual storytelling and the ability to transport people to different worlds through the power of film. With each passing day, my love for filmmaking and the power of storytelling grew stronger, and I felt a deep desire to create a platform where moving stories could be brought to life. To me, filmmaking is not just a hobby or a job, it's a way of life, a way to connect with people on a deeper level, and a medium to bring about change and create impact.

As I dream of becoming a director, I know that the road ahead will not be easy, but I am ready to take on the challenge. I want to be the voice for those who have been silenced, and a conduit for those who have been invisible. I believe that filmmaking is not just about entertainment, but also about empathy, compassion, and understanding. And I hope that through my films, I can inspire others to find their own voice and use it to make the world a better place.

Biography

I was born in 2001 in Istanbul where I've lived and studied until I was 17. I then went to The Netherlands to study Media and Film at the University of Amsterdam for three years. In college, I directed a short documentary about musicians in times of Covid-19 and collaborated in several school productions. Alongside my studies, I worked as the First Assistant Director and Producer Assistant in an experimental film production called "Togetherness" by American performance artist and director Pope L. After graduating from college in 2022, I moved back to Istanbul, where I worked as an assistant director in the film and commercial production company Kala Film. Later, I started developing the script for my passion project, Point Zero; my first short film and directorial debut. Gathering the cast and crew for the film, I stepped into the shoes of the director to make my first festival film, commenting on LGBTQ+ societal issues in Turkey.
